Terms & conditions
These terms are the agreement between you and LearnMap. By creating an account you accept them. They are written to be read, not to be impenetrable.
Last updated 2 October 2026
What LearnMap is
LearnMap is educational software. It lays out a syllabus as courses and topics, retrieves the published captions of YouTube videos you choose, generates study notes from those transcripts and from documents you upload, and answers questions about that material.
It is a study aid. It is not a university, it does not award qualifications, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any university, examination board or YouTube.
Your account
You need an account to use LearnMap. You must give a real email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think somebody else has got into your account. One account is for one person; sharing login details is not permitted.
You must be 18 or over to hold an account in your own right. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf and make any payment.
What you may and may not do
You agree not to:
- upload material you have no right to upload — someone else's copyrighted book, a leaked paper, anything confidential that is not yours to share;
- use the service to break the law, to harass anyone, or to produce material that would;
- resell, redistribute or publish the generated notes as your own product;
- submit work generated here as your own where your institution forbids it. What counts as acceptable use in your course is between you and your institution, and it is your responsibility to know;
- attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or to get around the limits on your plan.
We may suspend or close an account that does any of these. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why first.
Videos and copyright
LearnMap does not host, store or redistribute video. It reads the caption track that YouTube already publishes for a video you have chosen, and shows it alongside the embedded player. Rights in a video and its captions stay with whoever owns them.
You are responsible for the links you add and the files you upload. If you are a rights holder and believe material has been used here in a way you did not permit, write to learnmap.in@gmail.com and we will act on it.
AI output is not guaranteed to be correct
This matters more than anything else on this page, so it is not buried.
Study notes, tutor answers and cleaned-up handwriting are produced by AI models. They can be wrong. They can miss something, state something confidently that is not true, or mis-transcribe a formula. Notes cite the point in the lecture they came from precisely so you can check them — and you should, for anything that matters.
Do not rely on LearnMap as your only source for an examination, an assignment, or any decision with consequences. We do not warrant that the output is accurate, complete or fit for your particular course.
Plans and limits
Both plans come with allowances — videos, sets of study notes, photographed pages and AI questions — which are listed on the pricing page and shown live on your Plan & usage page. They work differently on the two plans, and the difference matters:
- The free allowance is one-off. It is what you get in total, not per month, and it does not reset. When it runs out, nothing you have already made is deleted or locked — you can still read, search and export all of it. What stops is adding new material.
- The 6 Months plan's allowance refills every 30 days for the six months you have paid for. Unused parts do not carry over into the next 30 days. A ₹99 top-up adds to the period you are currently in and expires with it.
We may change the prices or the allowances. If you have already paid, the plan you paid for keeps the allowances it had when you bought it, for the period you paid for. Changes apply from your next purchase, and we will tell you before one.
Payment
Payment is taken by a third-party payment provider. We never see or store your card details. Refunds and cancellation are covered by our refund and cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.
Availability
We will try to keep LearnMap running, but we do not promise it will always be available. It depends on services we do not control — YouTube, our caption provider, the AI providers — and any of them can fail or change. We may take the service down for maintenance, and may change or remove features.
If a video has no captions, we tell you immediately and it does not count against your allowance. That is the one failure we can predict, so it is the one we handle rather than charge for.
Your content
What you upload stays yours. You give us permission to store it and process it — including sending it to the AI providers listed in our privacy policy — only so far as is needed to provide the service to you. We claim no ownership of your material and we do not use it to train AI models.
Limits on our liability
LearnMap is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost marks or missed opportunities, or for any loss arising from reliance on AI output. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Ending the agreement
You may stop using LearnMap at any time, and may ask us to close your account as described in the privacy policy. We may close an account that breaches these terms. If we close your account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused part of anything you have paid.
Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Indian courts at Udupi, Karnataka.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and we will email you about anything significant rather than expecting you to re-read this page.
